RELIGION
What is it that draws us to religion? Is it what where told as children? or just human nature? I think people need a sense of self preservation, even after death. Since we have recognized our own mortality we have constructed a way out of it. This is essence of religion. The problem is that we have also construced several different sets of rules and baisic beliefs on the subject. This is what divides us. over the years we have become so set in our ways that people of opposing beliefs have turned against each other. Religion may help an individual overcome hardships and give a sense of meaning, but it has also set up barriers to understanding and created a division among people. In this day and age we need to recognize that religion was created to explain the unexplainable and to give us a way out of mortality. These days the unexplainable has been mostly explained and our mortality has been exposed. still we exhibit intolerance and hate for others who differ from our beliefs. in my opinion we need to abandon our antiquated sense of selfe inportance and just enjoy our time on earth. We are no different from any other living thing on earth. we need to learn that life is what matters, not the false belief that we are somehow different from all the other life on earth. in effect all our modern plitical problems are caused by religion.
