DISPOSAL Just don't leave it hanging around too long.
I went to the funeral of my mum's friend, Keith a while ago. It was beautiful. I like that place.
COFFIN I don't think I need a coffin. I don't think I really need to be on show...
RELIGION I don't want religion in my funeral. I don't think there is a god, or indeed see why anyone would think there is one.
GUESTS Everyone I ever loved, or those who loved me. All the girls I fancied.
Those that I hated (I don't really hate anyone I don't think...) can come too. Why not? I'll be dead. Just no arguing - That's not allowed.
MUSIC I was talking about my funeral music with Dylan the other day. I said 'To Build a Home' by the Cinematic Orchestra. I've been thinking since then... I don't think it's the one for me though...
Shortlist:
Gut Feeling (with Slap your Mammy) - Devo
Hang onto Each Other - Silver Mt Zion
From Which I came/Magic World - The Eels
Liar Liar - The Castaways (I'd also like this played at my wedding, which I hope to live for)
Gimmie Some More - Busta Rhymes
Old Man - Neil Young
Jaan Pehechaan Ho - Mohammed Rafi
Rime Of the Ancient Mariner - Iron Maiden
Any/all of these would do.
READINGS Whilst reading a Murakami book (Hard boiled Wonderland) a few years ago I read something that felt profound to me at the time. I felt like I had to try to remember it. I got a big purple pen and circled it, even though it wasn't my book.
That.
Dylan has the book, or might remember what it says.
I can't really remember what it said. Something like 'There are times when I have understanding... and sometimes when I loose my mind'. Something like that.
EPITAPH I want my friends and family to go to a pub and get drunk, then come up with something at the end of the night. My friends who don't drink should have a little drink.
