DISPOSAL
First, i'd like all my useful organs to be donated for the medical needs of others. Now, once the organs are distributed -- and let me add that i don't want them going into any shady experiments arranged by those creeps who call themselves "the U.S. government"; they're for private use only -- i'd like to be cremated. i'd like my ashes taken to the Narrows of the Harpeth, about 20 miles outside of Nashville, Tennessee. This is one of my favorite places, and i've been there with many people i love. You might hum the main theme to John Coltrane's "Naima" just before you release the ashes.

COFFIN
I don't want a coffin. I want to be cremated. My ashes can be kept in a ceramic jug. On one side is written "X X X," in large letters. In smaller letters underneath that, write, "The Good Stuff."

RELIGION

GUESTS
I'll replace the word "mourners" with "celebrants." All my blood relatives. My homies from ODS. Friends from Nashville, Memphis, St. Louis, New Orleans, Atlanta, Savannah, Gainesville, and Olympia, Ellensburg, Seattle, Portland, and London. No one barred.

MUSIC
Sweet soul music from the 50s, 60s and 70s on the turntables. (Also, i'll see about making a specific song called "I Suppose You're Wondering Why I've Called You All Here (Giles Is Now Dead)" but if i don't get it done before i die, don't worry about it.)

READINGS
You can read "The Invitation," which i keep pinned to my bedroom wall and which i received as a mysterious fax which was addressed to no one in particular one day when i worked in the copy shop. Also, if people want to, they can have a slide show and act out the parts to my "Zoonbats" comick books.

EPITAPH
The moonlight never had the purpose to shine its reflection upon the sea's surface And certainly the sea never had the intent To carry the messages in bottles that people sent And the wind never set out to ease through the leaves of the trees Creating melodies that sound so sweet to me And as i walk The shadow that i cast Was never meant to last
