OBITUARY
Paul Underwood, Born In East Yorkshire, England lived by the sea in a small town called Hornsea, son of Peter and Barbara . Paul was a shy child at school but counteracted this problem with a outspoken sense of humour that earned him many friends and a few enemies aswell . Paul specialised in Art at School and went on to do Art and Design A. Levels in 1993-94 . He recieved poor grades at A Level Art and arguments with his Father made him increasing anxious and unsure of himself .Paul slumped into a depression in 1995 . Paul had a disruptive upbringing and suffered mental abuse for many years from his Alcoholic father and this may have been the reason Paul was depressive from the age of 19 . Paul continued to produce Art work and some music in his spare time and enrolled at Cleveland University to study Fine Art . During the first year, His father was diagnosed with final stage Lung Cancer . This created a strain on Pauls relationships with friends and family and he became more reclusive . His mother was unhappy for the years that followed her Husbands death and Paul (once finishing University) decided to return to Hornsea . Unsure of himself and exhausted, he decided to work in a Factory (Hornsea Pottery) Paul made little friends and kept to himself and this made his depression worse . But he never stopped working on his Paintings and Music . Paul was also a fan of Electronic music and started to make his own music at Home . From 1998 to 2000, he made music on a small 4 track recording machine but never finished a track . Paul grew unsatisfied and unsure of his ablilities . In a reclusive and emotional state , he became a burden to his Mother, who was suffering depression due to the loss of her Mother in the year 2000 . Paul noticed that his mother was unwell soon after and made hot water bottles in the middle of the night to ease his Mothers back pain . This continued for many months , meanwhile Paul enrolled in a Post Graduate Animation course in London . Unfortunatley during the first week of the course, his mother was diagnosed with Lung Cancer . Paul finished his Animation course and started professional work for the first time . He worked as a Animator at a Games Company in Cheshire and visited his mother when he could . In 2003 , His Mother started to grow very weak and paliative therapy was introduced in February as the cancer had spread to her pancreas . Pauls Mother sadly died of pancreatic cancer in 2003 . Paul decided to leave his job in June 2003 to share the few remaining weeks of her life But sadly she died a few weeks later in July . Due to stress and bereavement , Paul decided to stay at his Mothers old House in Hornsea and not return to work . He spent many days alone, reclusive again, he stopped working and was unemployed for 3 years . Pauls depression got worse and he contemplated suicide . Paul had to sell his Mother house in Febraury 2006 .
